Carnival for Lammadonna's Office Opening (Nov 27, 2004)

You might have noticed the huge, mostly Chinese-only banner along the fence of the "VV parking lot", besides the Lamma Bistro? It was advertising a "Welcome Opening Ceremony and Carnivl" (see this nice big typo above). It was a local carnival on Sat, Nov 27, held from 8-10:30pm in our soccer field.

Lamma-Por and I got an invitation to the opening ceremony from Lammadonna personally (including roasted pig, of course. Yummy!). So I've been getting a bit more details about this event, stopping by in her office to get a schedule.

Do you like to impress your mates by speed-drinking a bottle of beer through a straw as fast as possible? For the younger set, speed-drinking soft drinks was being offered as well. Or what about the staple event of HK TV's variety shows: the wasabi-stuffed sushi-eating contest, complete with close-ups of the tears running down contestants' faces? Just all the usual, typical Saturday night entertainment on Lamma Island?

For the sweet-toothed, they arranged an ice-cream speed-eating contest. A truly messy affair, you can imagine, especially as one in each pair of contestants was blind-folded! And between all the contests: lots of Karaoke! Good & wholesome fun for the entire family, HK-style! I've been taking the good & wholesome pictures.
