NUDE @ The EDGE (July 7, 2005)

Great night, indeed! bbChris, one of the organisers, asked me to shoot the "official" photos of all the four bands at the semi-finals of the World Battle of the Bands in The EDGE, for the SCMP and other media. The great & LOUD music reminded me of some of my own misspent teenage years:

Riding my motorbike to the hottest concerts all over the country, 2-day outdoor music festivals in a clearing mid-forest, spending all my self-earned pocket money on vinyl records (pre-CD!) & the best Hifi system I could afford, driving my parents nuts with my "loud monkey music", letting my hair grow to shoulder-length, even sewing flares into my trousers & wearing beads & African tribal shirts... {*Big BLUSH!*}

Those were my salad days, more than a quarter century ago... But I still love going to rock concerts, or "Afro-beat House Disco Funk Mayhem" in NUDE's case. I also love shooting photos of concerts (all 247 of them this time, w/telephoto lens & external speedlight). Most of us still made it onto the last ferry to Lamma.

By the way, Lamma band NUDE won the semi-final, of course!

Finals on July 14 in The EDGE!
