Parksy's Dilemma on Dilamma

Parksy,
a
Living Lamma Legend
reminisced on turning 69
yesterday. Facing the DILEMMA
of setting up his professional
sound and light equipment for
his own party or simply attend a
reggae party?
He's set up and managed the
equipment so many times over the
decades at LAMMA parties and
most recently at the
Lamma Winds
farewell party. He's
been
asking his many friends
about this dilemma... choices,
choices...

"Buy the paper!"

I've
bought the SCMPost printed paper
quite a few times after seeing
Harry Harrison's FB
reminder post of "Buy the paper"
over the years.
I loved
today's SCMPost, including a photo
AND a selfie cartoon of this
highly popular VIP and
Living
Lamma Legend!
P.S. The original
drawing, scanned and emailed
directly from Harry himself!
Thank you!

To view and maybe even buy one
of Harry's original drawings,
check out the
SCMP online store!

Lamma Themed Song?

This "Lamma Themed Song" has just
been completed in the
HAC 安徒生會 yesterday,
according to this poster.
Can
we all get to hear it, please?

"Lamma Hailufeng Traditional
Mixed Vegetables Tea Fun Day
2026"

My favourite great photos from
Edmand Lau, lightly
cropped and edited, from the
recent yearly Mixed Vegetables
Tea Fun Day in YSW, focusing on
the kids and the 150+ people
from the Volunteer Teams of HK
Electric, Shan Mei Culture &
Leisure Assoc. and N. & S.
Sports Assoc.

Electricity Charges Increase

HK Electric Announces Fuel
Clause Charge for June 2026
"... the Fuel Clause Charge for
June represents an increase of
20.4% from May.
The
adjustment begins to reflect the
significant rise in
international fuel prices
arising from the Middle East
conflict.
However, due to the 'deferred
effect', the current level has
yet to fully capture the changes
in fuel costs. The FCC is
expected to continue to increase
in the coming months."

YSW Public Toilet Renovated

The renovation of the YSW Public
Toilet has finally been
completed. But it's taken so
long and probably cost a
surprising amount of money, I'd
have expected something a lot
more impressive!

AI added some rickshaws, which I
didn't even ask for, but I like
them! Bring in rickshaws! They
could be a major tourist
attraction, especially on an
island with no public or private
transportation.
Mobility-impaired Lammaites
would also love to use them.
P.S. Want to
have a look inside the renovated
toilet stalls?

Underwater Wine Cellar

"HK’s NO.1 ultimate underwater
wine cellar—one sip and you’ll
be amazed!
The deep sea is
the most natural wine cellar.
Can you guess how long ago this
wine was placed down there? It
has already become a hotel for
marine life, growing so many
mussels!
Welcome to
Lamma Fisherfolks’
Village
to find me—you can store your
wine here too!"

Windturbine Farewell Party w/DJs
& Lightshow

Just
a few days before the permanent closure of
Lamma Winds, a local, very
tech-savvy, long-term Lammaite
organised a farewell party with
DJs mixing techno music and a
fancy lightshow projected onto
the windturbine.
Here are a few
frames I grabbed and the
full video:

Savvy
local shops have latched on to
this new business opportunity
already! Lamma Winds-related
souvenirs already pop up in YSW,
this one in the Lammamart
("opposite the veg shop and next
to the little hippy shop").
It's a solar-powered wind
turbine, basically a fan. The
hot&sweaty&sunny summer
season has just started, I want
one!
