Jan 25:  Creative Exchanges Exhibition

Lamma Art Collective writes:

"Write or Die and Lamma Art Collective invite you to participate in a creative exchange programme between artists & writers!

How it works:
Submit 1 piece of existing work byy Friday 28 January. Artists can submit any medium (painting, sculpture, sketches, music, etc.) and writers can also submit from a range (poetry, short story, essay, novel, extract, etc.)

What happens next:
On February 1, we will announce partnerships. Artists and writers will be partnered at random. The piece of work already submitted will be given to your partner, and you will receive theirs (this will happen within 1 week of 1 February). Then, you will have until 4 March to produce a piece of work inspired by your partner's piece.

The final result:
Each partnership will submit their final pieces by 4 March. You will end up with 2 pieces of art and 2 pieces of writing per partnership (2x2). Paired writings & artworks will be displayed in an exhibition at LAC from 11-28 March 2022. "

I've already submitted my printed Lamma Landscapes 2022 A4 wall calendar, wondering which of the many Lamma writers I'll be randomly teamed up with. This will be my 4th joint exhibition in LAC:

Jan 7:  Vegetable Tea Banquet

Another first for Lamma, I think, a veggie tea banquet! Sounds underwhelming but the locals and indigenous residents showed up en masse for this free event on Jan 1, the local way of celebrating Western New Year.

They seemed to have fun getting together in these uncertain times, cleverly managing to stick with Covid-19 restrictions at this "outdoors" event. Even the Lamma Unicorn danced:

More delicious photos of the festivities and especially the interesting making-of pictures by Hong Kong Lamma Island Jing Fook Tong's Sam Law, plus some more of his finee behind the scenes photos. Thank you!!
