Exhibiton of old Lamma photos: Fri, Mar 3 (YSW City Hall), Mar 4/5 (Lamma ferry pier, Central)
"Honestly, if you haven't seen this band, you really should. They're bloody good, mate. Alex, the lead singer, well, he's got these crazy things he does with his face. Mental. Kinda like Mick Jagger crossed with Steven Tyler (or is that Stephen Hawking?) Crikey, that's a bit un-PC. Sorry. He can sing with the best of them though, and he writes some tasty numbers.
If you're after some good, honest, hearty rock, with chunky guitars, funky bass, punky drumming and a monkey vocalist, you can't go wrong with Garoupa. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that these lads have been churning out some of the finest original music Hong Kong has seen in, oh, ages. Check them out. You won't be disappointed."

Making HK a No-Kill City: Nov 26, 2-6pm, New World Centre Plaza:
"No Kill" is a short-hand phrase for a policy that aims to prevent the need to kill homeless pets by controlling their production. For at least the last 50 years the Government has maintained an expensive, inhumane and ineffective method of rounding up dogs, cats and other companion animals to kill them, at more that 20,000 a year.
We believe that a few simple pro-active measures can prevent the accumulation of these surplus unwanted animals. - this is called the No Kill Policy. This is a policy supported by all those who hate to see dogs and cats roaming the streets uncared for and posing nuisance and danger to society." Click for poster and website.
